On a side note…

Wednesday, July 20th, 2005

I do wonder why Harry so easily accepted that it in fact was the Minister who came to see him, when the Weasley’s obviously couldn’t trust themselves to be knocking on their own door. If I’d been using polyjuice potion to pose as someone, it would’ve been the Minister.

Befuddling.

Gotta rush. Must get some sleep before work shift.

The Half-Blood Prince

Sunday, July 17th, 2005

As I mentioned in my livejournal, I finished reading it.

Comments? I was much expecting it to happen, that which happened. Somehow it wasn’t hard to see it coming, and I was secretly hoping this in fact would be the outcome. Am probably being very cryptic to most readers, but some of you might still be reading, and I don’t want to spoil anything for you.

Best one yet, or is my current opinion anyway. Am both exhilarated and crushed, and feel a slight pride as well. You figure it out.

Have slept very little, as have been working WHILE reading the book, getting about 4 hours of sleep the last few days. Have been working nights, so went straight after work to get the book for me and Pal (she wanted her own copy), and read till I went unconscious. Slept till had to go back to work. I’m now having two days off, hope to be able to read it again with a bit less mulled head. Clarity is a virtue.

Crushed. So crushed.

Blergh, argh, hmpf!

Awake! Still! As in never went to sleep! Am going now, however stupid that may seem. Am exhausted. Just writing to asy that the Fight Club fanlisting has been revamped, totally! new layout, new additional buttons/codes, and a new script! I’m switching all my fanlistings and joined pages to Enthusiast, and will sometime soon maybe open my fanlistings collective. Which has just been lying around online, probably feeling very naked and not very much in love with Times New Roman…

Am yet again rambling, have joined about 50 fanlistings, trying to stay awake. But to no avail! Alas, I am only human, and my back is aching from all the sitting. Dog is even warming my bed, looks comfy…

Where’s my Pepsi Max? Don’t think caffeine will be enough, but thristy, and Pepsi Max is tasty. Yum.

Oh, yeah, new layout, do you like Phantom of the Opera? Saw it on Christmas Day, was awesome, want Gerry Butler for meself! He was truly extraordinary, very good singing voice, Val wasn’t tortured at all.

Maybe will watch Aladdin. Have got DVD. Oh shut up already.

I love my Extended Edition!

Alexander

Saturday, November 27th, 2004

I liked Alexander. I liked Alexander a lot. Except for the extensive hugging scenes, but that’s just me. Closeness can be shown in other ways than hugging. And bedding. Otherwise, the critics can go hang themselves. Overall it was brilliant, even though it was on the epic side…ahem. A little long, but not too much so. And Colin and Jared were gorgeous and lovely!!!!

!!!!!!

‘Nuff said. (I didn’t like Angelina Jolies “foreign” accent, it seemed a bit fake, but I’ll ignore it on the behalf of an otherwise great movie.)

dvds and stuff.

It’s snowing like mad. There’s honestly like a meter of snow. Meaning A LOT! Driving is from hell. All the snowbrushes are sold out, so I have to clean the car using a towel. Bad idea! Towel = hands numb from cold. I did learn how to attach the car to the motor-warming system whatchamacallit. Even with nubbed tyres, the driving is…lethal.

And I thought winter wouldn’t come this year.

Speaking of the car, I think it’s trying to murder me. Honestly. It gets fume-y inside, even with the heating and A/C on. If I put the air blowing towards the front, the back windows get fume-y, and vic

Harry Potter and the obsessed fan

Sunday, July 25th, 2004

New layout, again. I’ve been quite obsessed with Harry Potter, even more so after I received my order from Amazon.co.uk, including both HP movies, which I indeed hadn’t owned before. So, I’ve been doing nothing but watched DVD’s really, and my day off, Friday, went entirely to lying in bed just lazying around with th DVD-player rolling. Other than the HP movies I finally got Pirates of the Caribbean, Underworld (I know, it’s not superb but it’s good entertainment), Emma (which I haven’t been able to find in Finland at all), and our all time favorite with Pal, Bring It On. That one outdoes all the other teen movies. The package also included the box-set soundtrack’s for the Lord of the Rings-films, Audioslaves “Audioslave” cd, and Static-X’s “Shadow Zone”. Pal can’t stop raving about them, I think they’re fine. She got really obsessed after the Korn consert, and blames me for turing her from a pop-lover-fanatic into a rock-chick. Really, you should see the glares she throws me (while blissfully listening to rock-music). I also got the Tales from the Perilious Realms by JRR Tolkien in the same series I have the rest of his books in. I haven’t found it in Finland in the Harper Collins black paper-back edition, though, I might’ve if I’d looked harder. Well, I was shopping online and came across it while buying the OST’s for the movies. There y’go.

So, The Prisoner of Azkaban premiere’s is in a week and a half. I KNOW! It’s HORRIBLE! I’m being TORTURED by stupid Finns who can’t be bothered to get any movies during the sumemr season. I’m really excited, by all I’ve heard, I’m sure it’ll be the best one yet. And I used to be one of them who LOATHED THE ENTIRE IDEA of filming the books into movies. So there you go. Then I flew to Greece and was forced to watch the first movie on the plane. Go figure. And now, eating my words, I am.

My new domain is in good process of soon being done for opening, so you’ll just have to bare yourself another day or two. I’m really excited about this one. :)

The Tower of Ecthelion

Saturday, January 10th, 2004

There is, of course, a new layout. I would, of course, appreciate comments. :D I am obsessed enough with LOTR at the moment to make each and every layout feature it. Them. Us. Whatever. And Minas Tirith is, of course, and indeed very beautiful. I was surfing through some LOTR appendix thingy, and was reading about different things in different places, in Middle Earth, that is. I had already started on the layout, and I found this thing about The White Tower, and under The Tower of Ecthelion was this quote:

…the Tower of Ecthelion, standing high within the topmost walls, shone out against the sky, glimmering like a spike of pearl and silver, tall and fair and shapely, and its pinnacle glittered as if it were wrought of crystals…

And I somehow thought it very fit. Of course, I couldn’t get the entire quote fit in the layout without making it messy and cluttered, so now there’s only a fraction of it left, “as if it were wrought of crystals”. Anyway. I read the books like two years ago, so I can’t remember things word for word. And it had somehow slipped my mind, the entire Minas Tirith view, and the landscapes in general. Of course I remebered some things, but The Two Towers and especially Return of the King were so war-esque, I just rushed through the details. So when I saw the movie, I thought, “This is exactly how Minas Tirith should look like”. In my head. And then I read the quote, and it applied 100%. I was just so amazed how fit for each other they were, the picture and quote.

It was worth to rant about. I bet you didn’t even read it comletely, just skimmed thorugh, if even that. But it’s so beautiful. Permanent in my mind.

Yeah. So. I finished my second read of Queen of the Damned today. It took me a while to get through it, but it was nonetheless enjoyable and awesome. But…I dunno. It seemed different this time. Maybe because it wasn’t a translation, but still. Maybe because I sometimes had short periods when I wasn’t reading at all, and the last time I just ate it all up. Maybe I noticed things a little better this time, or had time to dwell on the details. Whatever. It was different. But good. (I don’t know whom I’m trying to convince.)

This is the most perfect entry ever. I could squeeze in both LOTR and the VC in one entry. Be very, very, proud of me. It might not happen in a while, again.

Return of the King: EPIC!

Thursday, December 18th, 2003

Return of the King was just the awesomest! I have serious LOTR-withdrawal going on. I NEED TO SEE IT AGAIN! NOW!!! This just has to be the greatest and best trilogy I’ve ever seen. I haven’t ever seen anything like it, not until Wednesday. And it was really true to the book even! I really wanted to cry the whole movie, but it was just too exciting to get teary-eyed. I have never experienced a movie theater as quiet as during the movie. It was epic. Really huge. It was the best closure I’ve ever seen.

So, tomorrow I’m going to buy Return of the King for PS2, and the extended edition of The Two Towers. I only got paid on Tuesday, so I haven’t had the money, nor the time to buy it till now. I’ll probably re-read the trilogy as soon as Pal can get through her first time with FOTR.

I can’t believe it’s over! Over three years of anticipation, and now there’s nothing to anticipate anymore. It’s really sad. And how am I supposed to have the patience to wait till the extended edition of ROTK comes out next fall? My life is over! But I can die happy now! I’ve seen the entire series!

I can’t stop babbling, so I better stop writing. Let me just tell you all that The Lord of the Rings is one of few best things in my life. Yes, I am that desperate. It makes me complete.

I miss the fellowship already. They were so cute together.

I’ll shut up now.

tired

Wednesday, November 12th, 2003

I just fell asleep for an hour. At work. I tried to read in the bus, didn’t work out, I came to work, and I fell asleep. A friend of mine came over yesterday and I helped her with her mathematics. And I got off early yesterday. Didn’t help me much, I was still only in bed after 1AM. I’m skipping school today as well. I’m just too tired, and I get pissed at the mere thought of having to go. So yeah, I’m not going. Let’s see if I could drag myself to the gym. There’s a Les Mills BodyBalance lesson at 19.15. I doubt it, but miracles do happen. But I’m going tomorrow anyway, so it’s not a huge loss.

I got Harry Potter and the Quidditch World Cup on PS2! I couldn’t resist, and now that I have it, I don’t regret it. It’s the best, and totally entertaining. I’ve already won the house cup with all the houses at Hogwarts, and also the world cup with England. Now I’m playing with the Nordic Team. It’s superfun.

I also bought Blood Canticle by Anne Rice, which I won’t have the time to touch until Christmas holidays, for sure. Then I bought The Alchemist, Lord of the Flies, Master and Margarita, and The Long Ships (it’s original title is Röde Orm, which means Red Snake, which is why I got confused with the name). In Swedish; I need to read for my Swedish class. And I bought a sweater. It’s beige.

Anyway. I flunked my maths test yesterday. I’m pissed, because the teacher gave us exercises for us to do, and I did, and none of the questions in the test had anything to do with the exercises. So I wasted my time reading stuff I didn’t need. And now I have to do it all over again. This is my first course in long mathematics and I go and flunk it. I’m on the verge of self-loathing. Yet I am so unmotivated.

Life sucks, man. I need my playstation. Now.
