packing, moving, school and photographing

Tuesday, August 31st, 2004

Well, here I am. A bit slow now in the beginning, a bit quiet overall. Internet comes and goes, hopefully here on Friday when shoebox_project has been updated…*squee*

Sunday was absolutely wonderful, since I am such a procrastinator. I started packing around 17.00. Now that I knew how much would fit in the room at the campus, I felt quite comfortable with the idea of taking everything I own! Well, needless to say, I wasn’t very comfortable at 17.00, knowing that I should be off within a few hours if I wanted to drive during daylight.

Then mum decided I couldn’t cope with the stuff all by me onesies, so she wanted to tag along to help me unpack. So, she were to take the train back, and the last train leaving would leave at 22.00. I was not panicking at all! So, with the computer, TV, audio system, PS2, GameCube, and clothes for a while etc, stuffed in the car, we left at 19.40. We backed five minutes later, because I forgot my shades, and we were to drive to the west where the sun sets all lovely and bright in the eyes. So, we had a nice little lady driving her little car in front of us for about 30km, driving 15km/h below the speedlimit, and a steady flow of cars coming in the other direction. So, I finally passed the car after 30km, heart hammering in chest since there was a huge truck coming towards us. Eek.

Anyway, we got to the campus around 21.00, and unpacked in record time, 30 minutes! Then I drove mum to the trainstation, and breathed freely and very much relieved.

What an exciting story, wasn’t it? Then I got mad at Pal, because she was supposed to save the new part of shoebox_project for me to read at campus, but it was a part sliced in two, and she had only saved the first part! And there’s no internet to connect your own computer to, only public computers in the library!!!

I might as well mention my excitement for the shoebox_project, since I really do not like Harry Potter fanfiction, at all! I just think that I really like the way JKR does the story, and I don’t want it to be spoiled by other peoples own ideas. But the shoebox_project is quite innocent, and pleasantly slashy, but mainly because it’s pre-Harry, and true to most JKR details. And very funny! Honestly, I never thought I’d say, I do like Harry Potter fanfiction, but this one I actually like.

Blah, I don’t know what to write anymore, there’s too much going on and nothing going on at all. School…er, well we’re having a course in Digital Photography, not my secret ambition at all, but it’s all “great fun” anyway. I’ve never grown fond of digital photography (contra classical photography, which I love) and I guess it’s always useful to get used to new systems even if you don’t like it much. Photographing perse isn’t terrible, I just think digital photographing is, er, funny.

I have no idea how often I’ll be able to update, I hope often enough! for my own sake. I’m going home again in the weekend, at least for a day, so I might be able to update the graphics at kalenedral.net then. Maybe. I think I might’ve gotten into writing again after many years, so I might update writing stuff as well. This is also very random blabbering, I’m just reminding myself of things that I should and could do. Mind not.

new layout

New layout, as you can tell. I made it to fit the style of Kalenedral.net. I dunno why, I like consistency, I guess.

I added a bunch of fanart and LJicons to kalenedral.net, all, but ten (10) icons, Harry Potter related (SURPRISE!!!!!!!!) And since I’m moving to the school campus tomorrow, and won’t update until the weekend, I thought a finally made that new layout I promised. So here you are, a bunch of updates. I even updated my FLs.

Oh yeah, I haven’t told you, have I? I’m going for a year to this open university type of thing (not really, but it’s hard to explain) to do art (!), since I was rubbish and didn’t read enough for the uni application tests. I guess that is fine, since my plans now are to pursue the art career I had in mind from the beginning anyway. No literacy for me, hooray! Er, yeah. I might get to go to Enland for a three (3) year BA program next year, if the school doesn’t think me as rubbish as I do. I love that word. I am RUBBISH! Well, they did accept me, either because I’m really smart (HA!) or because I’m not completely rubbish. Hard to tell.

Ahem. Yes. So I’m leaving tomorrow (today actually), and I still haven’t packed. But I bought slippers today (Esprit ones, mind you they were 25 euros!) and 2 sketch blocks, 1 A4 and 1 A3, and an art pencil pack (ranging from H to 8B, if I remeber correctly) and three additional HB-pencils. Yeah, that was it. Then mum bought us some ice cream and my stomach didn’t like that at all. Now I remember she also bought a 0.5l pepsi max bottle, and I forgot it in my bag! *runs to get her pepsi max*

I guess that’s it then. I’m leaving my dearest computer at home, since I don’t know if it’ll fit in the room. But I’ll be back in the weekend to finnish my packing and if it’ll fit, I’ll be dragging ol’ compy with me as well.

Kalenedral.net

Friday, August 13th, 2004

Okay, I guess I’m ready! KALENEDRAL.NET is open for visitor! It’s my new domain, if you’d already forgotten. It’s not even nearly done yet, so bare with me people! I just thought you guys would get tired of waiting to find out what “a few days” means. Please let me know what you think!

And on to more domain news, I’m growing rather tired of this layout, so I might change it soon. Again! I think it’s okay, but not nearly good enough to please me much longer. It looked much better when I’d just finished it. *sigh* We’ll see what I’ll come up with.

I probably should get some sleep, I’ve been up the past few days till 4-6 AM just mingling.

I feel so weird. It’s my first week on vacation, and I’m already bored. It’s absolutely disgusting how little there is for me to do, that ISN’T chores (which disgusts me even further). Today I’m even home alone, so I can’t bug anyone just for the amusement. I can’t go anywhere…’cause there’s nowhere to go! The beach is restricted to sunbathing only because of flooding and wastewater getting into the sea. And what fun is it sunbathing with no one to accompany you?

The fridge’s empty, so I can’t EAT anything (thank the Gods), we only have water to drink (how disgusting) and there’s nothing on the TV! And I can’t be bothered to watch a movie. I’m so bored. And Pal even lent Pirates to one of her friends.

That leaves me with Playstation or GameCube, and the Harry Potter (PoA) game I’ve passed five times already, it’s starting to get really annoying really. And all the three other Potter-games are even more so. Zelda is so difficult I don’t think I can handle it at the moment. In Majora’s Mask you really have to do everything at precisely the right time, or it wont work! And I’m terrible at catching poes in Ocarina of Time, and I don’t want to proceed to ganondorf before I’ve done everything else.

What a drag. Did I mention I could read? Only that I got lost in Emma; I left it lying about for a few months, and now I can’t find the place where I left. I start reading, oh yeah, this seems unfamiliar, then I read something I know I’ve passed a long time ago! I should be around the time when Mr. Weston has his ball, but I can’t figure out if I’m there where Frank has already gotten back, or not! Frustrating. So it’s back to Potter then. I’m a lame excuse for a human being. There can’t possibly be a person more bored than I am. And of course Pal had to have me drive her (she hasn’t got her license yet) to her friend, thus I am already awake! I’m tired enough to be bored, but not tired enough to sleep. I even gave the last of my money to mum and Pal, so I can’t even go to the movie theater. Or anywhere else for that matter.

Deliver me from this madness.

Potter yet again.

Prisoner of Azkaban was a pleasant surprise! I’d thought it would be a bit different but the changes made were definitely not bad! For instance, the humour was much better in this one than in the previous ones, and more obvious even. A few things irked me to no end, but the rest of the movie made up for it. I’ll tell more later. I know that Johanna won’t see it until tonight, so if you, Johanna, by any chyance happen to read this before the movie, you won’t have read any spoilers.

So other than the movie theater being a teeny-fest, I had a great time. I went alone, because I realized too late that the tickets had already been for sale in mid-July! I was mighty pissed, and I could only squeeze in myself alone a good seat. So I reserved tickets for me and Pal for the Friday show instead. Though, I must say, I’m having a rather hard time trying to discuss it with her. heh But the long 6 month wait is over, and I’m not the least bit disappointed. It was different as I already said, but…it was GREAT! Hail to Val the Potter fan! Never would’ve thought when Pal got me the books five years ago, and I chucked them somewhere dusty out of hand, muttering to myself, ‘what’s this kiddy rubbish?’ And yet, again, I eat my words:

Proof: I bought the Order of the Phoenix paperback edition yesterday. Because my hardback edition (one of my few first editions, so I don’t care that there are about 3 million first editions of it) is kind of…”used”. It’s starting to fall apart, and I’ll take any precaution to avoid that.

So, were going shopping today with Pal and her friend to some outlet place a bit outside town. I got my paycheck yesterday, so I’m looking for ways to spend it!
